This page explains the storage used by the public Zodiaris journal. Cookies are small values a browser sends with requests to a website. Local storage stays in your browser and can remember a preference between visits.

What we store and why

Saved zodiac sign

When you choose “Save my sign,” we store your selected sign on this device so it can be highlighted when you return. Choosing a sign to read does not save it automatically. This preference stays until you remove your saved sign or clear the site’s browser data; it has no automatic expiry. Browser storage name: orialis.saved-sign.v1.

Analytics preference

When you allow or decline analytics, we remember that choice in this browser. This is used to respect your choice, not to measure your visits. It remains until you change it or clear the site’s browser data; it has no automatic expiry. Browser storage name: zodiaris.analytics-consent.v1. A first-party preference cookie, zodiaris_analytics_consent, also remembers the choice for up to one year. This lets us respect it when JavaScript is unavailable; it is not an analytics identifier.

Optional Google Analytics cookies

Analytics is available on this site, but its script loads only after you choose Allow analytics. When enabled and allowed, _ga distinguishes browsers and _ga_<measurement-id> maintains session state. Google documents a default expiry of two years, which can refresh on use; browser limits and Analytics settings can shorten it. These cookie lifetimes are separate from how long Google retains analytics reports. See Google’s cookie documentation.

Your choices

The optional birth chart calculator also stores one chart when you explicitly choose “Save on this device.” The local-storage key is zodiaris.birth-chart.v1. It contains the entered birth details, chart result and calculation versions; it has no automatic expiry and is not a tracking identifier. Use “Delete saved chart” on the calculator to remove it, or clear this site’s browser data. Calculating a chart does not save it automatically. Country directory files may be kept in the browser’s ordinary asset cache; they contain public place data, not your city search history.

You can read the public journal without saving a sign or allowing analytics. When analytics is available, choose “Decline analytics” to keep it off. Use “Analytics preferences” at the bottom of the page to change your choice later.

Withdrawing analytics consent stops collection in this browser and clears the journal’s Google Analytics cookies. It does not erase data already sent to Google. Clearing the site’s browser data removes the saved sign and consent preference; if analytics is available on a later visit, we ask again. Choices apply separately to each browser and device.

Other website requests

Hosting, images and fonts require network requests even when analytics is declined. A connection request is not the same as an analytics cookie. Our Privacy Policy describes the services involved and the connection data they receive.

For storage or privacy questions, email info@zodiaris.com. We update this page when the journal’s storage changes. Any new optional tracking must be disclosed and offered with the appropriate choice before it is used.
